Week 1 of the Garden Harvest Quilt Along

Garden Harvest Pattern

Week 1 of the Garden Harvest Quilt Along is all about choosing fabric. This pattern is great for using scraps! There is no right or wrong way to mix fabric for your blocks, but if you like the look of the cover quilt, there are some things to keep in mind:

  1. Fabric B & C are both 10” squares.  You will pair (1) Fabric B and (1) Fabric C to make (8) HSTs that will be used in the block corners.  When choosing your fabrics to pair, look for fabrics with contrast. (One B/C pair will make enough HSTs for (2) blocks.)
  2. Fabric B should contrast with both Fabrics A and C.
  3. Fabric D 5” squares can be either bold or low volume to contrast with the rest of the block.
Block Layout

This pattern was written to use a variety of pre-cuts. It can also be made using your favorite ⅓ yard cuts of fabric. Several shops are offering kits. Week 2 will have details on how to cut your ⅓ yard bundles for the Garden Harvest Quilt.

If you would like to see how your colors would look together, we have a FREE coloring sheet you can download below to get ideas for your design.

I had to share my excitement! When I looked at my sales over the last 3 months, thanks to you, your course, some small and some big tweaks - my sales have increased A LOT 😁. I post less to Instagram but I am consistent - with everything - the look, music, feel, words, themes, etc. I honestly didn’t think there had been that much of an increase in sales - but now I’m increasing my monthly target! Thanks for everything you do Elizabeth!
