I am a Minnesota born girl living in Texas with my husband and 3 kids. If I could tell my 13 year old self I was going to become a quilter, I would have laughed in disbelief! However, a few years ago I discovered the world of quilting and fell in love!
I serve quilters who own or want to start a business in the quilting industry. I teach on topics like how to write and sell quilt patterns, how to grow a successful career in quilting, and more.
My business ideas started early. When I was 8 years old I went door to door selling homemade mouthwash. Bless those neighbors who bought some because that success fed into my entrepreneurial spirit. For years I hustled to earn money from jobs like cleaning rooms at Super 8 Motel (yikes, have I got stories) to delivering early morning papers. But my real desire was to create my own business. Fast forward to my mid-thirties when I roped my best friend into starting a business with me. We didn’t know what we would do, but we knew it would be something. My friend brought me to International Quilt Market, or rather I invited myself to tag along. I was blown away. It turns out quilting is cool.
That’s when Quilters Candy was born. Around the same time that my friend taught me to quilt, we met with a lawyer and opened Quilters Candy Box. Through the years Quilters Candy Box morphed into Quilters Candy. It turned from a physical subscription box to an online membership. Along the way I learned how to write and sell quilt patterns and I now teach others to do the same.
That desire I had as an 8 year-old turned into something wonderful. I am glad you are here. Whether you are a quilter or entrepreneur, I am excited to connect!
I value authenticity and integrity, and I walk the walk. I have learned how to start from zero quilting knowledge to running a multiple 6 figure quilting business in just a few years.
I didn’t know how to quilt until my mid 30’s. I learned AFTER starting a quilting business.
I have seen more of my alumni in quilting magazines than I have seen my own work in quilting magazines.
I share a weekly podcast with tips and ideas to grow a quilting business.
All of my alumni are invited to my house for dinner during Quilt Market.
Meet like-minded quilters, get access to rare + exclusive quilt pattern designs each month, and up your quilting skills.
With our membership, you'll meet other members just like you!
