Welcome to week 2 of the After The Rain quilt along!
This week we will cut our templates. I’m also excited to share week 1’s winner, and take a look at the prize for this week!
After The Rain template tips
It’s helpful to have templates that are a bit firm. So using normal paper is FINE. But if you can:
- Trace your templates on something like
- The back of a cereal box
- Template paper
- Cardstock
It will make tracing your templates onto your fabric so much easier.
Measure Your Template Printout
Be sure to measure each page that your print. There is a 1″ box on each page. If your box doesn’t measure one inch, you will need to reprint your template paper.
If it isn’t printing at the right size, try printing with the feature marked, “Fit Image To Page”.
¼" Seam allowance for templates?
I have had a few questions asking if the templates need to have a ¼” seam allowance added.
No. The templates are just the right size. The ¼” seam allowance is added to the templates, so you do not need to add a ¼” to your tracing.
Week 2 Prize
Week 2’s prize is a Smart Iron from Oliso Irons.
This is my favorite iron! You can leave it in the down position at all times, and it has smart feet that list the iron so it won’t burn your surface.
You can choose which color you want if you are the winner.
