Gift Guide

Hey y’all. I’m Becca of Becca Plymale Creative. I am a Pattern Designer, Artist and maker. My sewing career began in designing children’s sewing patterns, however as my daughter continues to get older and I am not sewing for her as much I found myself pivoting this focus to quilt patterns.

It’s that time of year again, and if you are anything like me then the holidays have snuck up on you! But not to worry, I have compiled the ultimate gift guide of the quilters in your life. This gift guide includes notions, tools, and some fun and unique gifts I think we all would love to receive.

This post also contains affiliate links (meaning I receive a small portion of the proceeds at no additional cost to you) as well as recommendations of items that I have been given to sample by vendors. All opinions are my own and only my genuine favorites make this list.

Notion and Sewing Supplies

While I have several rotary cutters in all different sizes, this rotary cutter is my favorite. The blade can easily be switched to either side making cutting a comfortable task for us lefties. Be sure to include replacement blades.

These Quilt Label Clips from Seams Sew Me are one of my favorite notions in my sewing kit. They are especially helpful for those patterns that need lots and lots of pieces cut.

A wool pressing mat is a must have for quilters. The wool traps the heat and makes the pressing that much more effective.

Mini Oliso Iron It comes with a silicone trivet for use as both travel/storage and as a sole plate for the iron to rest on in the face down position. Also a nice tip for detailed pressing and getting into those seams.

A quilter’s clapper will help you get flat, crisp seams and creases while piecing your quilt tops.

For the Hand Quilter

Gifts for the hand quilter

I like to make sure that my hand sewing needles have a large eye. It is very helpful when trying to thread the needle.

Sew Fine Thread Gloss makes hand sewing more enjoyable…plus it smells so good!!

Magnetic needle minders are not only a fun stocking stuffer but also very convenient when trying to keep track of your needle. No more loosing your needle when finishing your binding.

Embroidery Scissors These scissors make such a pretty gift and come in handy when hand quilting.
