STACIE OF GINGIBER on craft to career

HOW TO HAVE AN ART CAREER WITH STACIE BLOOMFIELD

Learn how to have an art career with Stacie Blomfield of Gingiber.  I am excited to share Stacie’s journey of how she turned her art into a career.  Learn how you can do the same!

As you’ll hear, Stacie is genuine, happy, creative, and super successful.

Getting married at 20, having kids shortly after, and having her husband get his PhD didn’t leave Stacie with a lot of free time.  But despite the lack of time, Stacie has worked hard to get her art into the world.

It was great chatting with Stacie about her personal journey (12 years) to grow her business to what it is today.

The show notes below cover:

  • The links and freebies we discussed.
    • PS – Stacie is super generous with the amount of free help and resources she shares with other artists.
  • Where Stacie’s work can be found.
  • Examples of Stacie’s art.
  • My 2nd quilt I made using Stacie’s fabric (talked about in the podcast).
  • A favorite Instagram account of Stacie’s that you should know about and follow.

STACIE TEACHES YOU TO BE A SUCCESSFUL ARTIST

I have heard SO many good things from people who have taken Stacie’s ‘Leverage Your Art course that I had to ask her about her class.

In Leverage Your Artwork, Stacie is clear that she teaches artist how to sell your art in multiple ways.  It’s not an art class on how to create art, but once you have art ready to sell, she teaches HOW to do it.

DIVERSIFIED REVENUE STREAMS

I admire how Stacie has diversified her income.  She shares how diversifing her income has helped her in different economic situations.  As a business owner, it’s a very smart idea to have different ways to earn an income.  Here are the different areas Stacie earns money:

  • Brick and Mortar Store
  • Membership
  • Online Education
  • Wholesale
  • Art Licensing

MY SECOND QUILT USING STACIE'S 'THICKET' LINE FOR MODA FABRICS

In the podcast, I share that the second quilt I ever made was with Stacie’s ‘THICKET’ line of fabric.  This is a photo of the quilt top.

This is also the fabric line Stacie released at Quilt market in 2015 when I met her.

WHERE TO FIND STACIE'S ART

I can only imagine how amazing it would be to walk in different stores and see your artwork there.  Stacie has her artwork carried at some really cool stores.  Here’s a list that I found on her website of where her artwork is carried.

  • Land of Nod
  • Moda Fabrics
  • PaigeTate Coloring Books
  • Chasing Paper Wallpaper
  • West Elm
  • Crane and Co.
  • Chronicle Books
  • Andrews McMeel

WHAT MAKES STACIE’S ART UNIQUE –

Described as, “reading Stacie’s diary” when looking at her art,  she likes to use color, texture, and small details in her art.

“It’s all about the tiny details when someone leans in and looks close. . . ” – Stacie quoting one of her art professors.
